With an explosive 45-31 victory over Minnesota on Thursday night, Ohio State settled into Finebaum’s 3rd slot.
Redshirt-freshman C.J. Stroud replaced Justin Fields as the Buckeyes quarterback, and posted an equally impressive stat-line to those of his predecessor. Stroud finished the day with 294 passing yards and threw for four touchdowns.
The Buckeyes will host Oregon next Saturday in one of the most anticipated non conference games of the season.
As far as the other three, top pick, Alabama cruised past Miami (FL) in their opener, as expected. Second slotted Georgia put on a defense show sacking Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei seven times to secure a 10-3 victory over the Tigers in what was Week 1’s most anticipated matchup.
Unlike the other three, Oklahoma struggled early and found themselves in a battle with Tulane, but came away with a 40-35 victory.
