Everyone is starting to jump on the Ohio State bandwagon.

The Buckeyes had their critics through the first two weeks of the season, despite blowout wins over Oregon State and Rutgers. While they looked like one of the best teams in the country, everybody wanted to see how the team would handle the pressure of playing a top 25 opponent.

After a 40-28 win over No. 15 TCU, there’s little doubt that Ohio State is one of the nation’s best.

Even SEC Network host and college football analyst Paul Finebaum is buying stock in the Buckeyes, especially since they finished 3-0 without Urban Meyer and now one of the best coaches in the sport returns to the sideline.

“Now that Urban (Meyer) comes back, you have to start really start thinking about this Ohio State team as possibly the best challenger to Alabama,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter Sunday morning. “They look easily to me to be the second best team in the country right now. Again, we’re putting a lot of stock into this one game, but that was a big game. … I’ve been really impressed with what Ryan Day’s team has done so far.”

Ohio State will take on Tulane in Meyer’s first game back, giving the Buckeyes one final tune-up game before hitting conference play for the remainder of the season. And two weeks will be a big one, as they’ll travel to Happy Valley to take on Penn State.

The Buckeyes proved they belong in the national conversation on Saturday night. And in two weeks, they’ll have an opportunity to get an early lead in the B1G East.
