If the season ended today and Paul Finebaum was on the College Football Playoff committee, we’d have a very SEC semifinal round. The SEC Network host still has the conference occupying three of the four spots after six weeks of the season.

On Sunday, Finebaum updated his top four, having three SEC teams in the mix. He does have one B1G team in the group, though, actually at the No. 1 spot.

Finebaum has Ohio State ranked as the No. 1 team in the country right now, following a 34-10 victory over Michigan State. Finebaum also had the Buckeyes in the top slot last week after a dominating 48-7 win over Nebraska.

Along with having the Buckeyes propped up in that top spot, Finebaum also said Ohio State would beat Clemson right now, and “it would not be that close.”

Here’s Finebaum’s complete top four list:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Alabama
  3. Georgia
  4. LSU

All four teams have looked pretty good this season. But we’re only halfway through the season. Plenty can change over the next two months.

It’ll be interesting to see how much this changes over the course of the season.
