Phillip Daniels has signed with Ohio State for the 2025 season, according to a report from On3 on Wednesday morning.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound freshman will beef up the Buckeyes’ offensive line next fall. Daniels was the 4th-best offensive tackle available in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports, after announcing he was transferring from Minnesota.

The former 4-star talent from Cincinnati will immediately give a shot in the arm to Ohio State’s O-line in 2025. He is the Buckeyes’ first addition to the offensive line for next season.

Daniels appeared in 11 games for Minnesota during the 2024 season. He made 4 starts at right tackle and only allowed 1 sack on 158 pass block snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. Daniels redshirted as a true freshman during the 2023 season before becoming a mainstay on the Golden Gophers’ offensive line this fall.

Daniels produced above average grades this season at Minnesota. He posted an overall grade of 62.5 with a 66.7 run block grade and a 65.4 pass block grade, per PFF.

He’s a vital signing out of the portal for Ohio State, which will likely be losing multiple key offensive linemen to the NFL Draft after this season. So, Daniels is primed to come in and make an immediate impact for head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes in 2025.
