Justin Hilliard received a special honor. For the 2020 season, the Ohio State linebacker will be one of seven team captains for the Buckeyes, and one of four defensive players to earn the honor for the year.
Its an incredible honor anywhere, but especially an honor at such a prestigious program like Ohio State.
After learning he was named a team captain, Hilliard knew who he wanted to call first. Hilliard broke out his phone and dialed his father’s number, wanting him to be the first person outside of the program to know about the achievement.
The moment the father and son shared, even through a phone, was priceless. We’ll allow the video shared by Ohio State to do the talking:

The moment he got to call his dad to tell him he’d been voted captain made it all worth it.#GoBuckeyes #H2 pic.twitter.com/WyRXRpdDoC
