Dwayne Haskins checks just about every box at the quarterback position, and his skillset has him as a high first-round pick in the NFL Draft later this month.

The former Buckeye has the size, arm strength, accuracy and presence to be an asset to just about any team in the NFL. It’s his unique combination of size and skill that had him listed as the top overall quarterback in the draft just a few weeks ago.

Over the last few weeks, though, things have changed. Kyler Murray is in the mix and is making a case to be the first quarterback taken in the 2019 NFL Draft — potentially even the No. 1 overall pick. Surely, then, Haskins is no worse than the second quarterback available.

According to Todd McShay, the one uncertainty on Haskins’ resumé — experience — could be a concern for NFL teams. And now, some of those franchises at the top of the draft are wondering if Missouri quarterback Drew Lock would be a better option.

McShay referred to Haskins as “the best pure pocket passer in this class,” but teams are sold that he’s the best option. “Teams are starting to wonder if Drew Lock is a better option,” McShay said, according to Andrew Doughty of Hero Sports.

Haskins did have just one year of starting experience at the college level, but used that one season to lead the nation in passing yardage and touchdown passes. Not bad for a first-time starter. He also guided Ohio State to a 13-1 season and a B1G title.

Experience has also been a bit of a hiccup with Haskins, and Lock certainly brings more snaps to the table. The former Missouri quarterback is a fine talent, too, but is he a better option that Haskins.

A lot of experts still believe Haskins is one of the top two quarterbacks in the class. A lot of teams are still debating.
