Quinshon Judkins cashes in game-opening TD in Ohio State's matchup vs. Texas
Quinshon Judkins and Ohio State are off and running in the Cotton Bowl against Texas, and the Buckeyes cashed in another game-opening touchdown in the College Football Playoff. It moves Ohio State to a perfect 3-for-3 in grabbing touchdowns on their first drive in each Playoff game.
This time, it was a more methodical approach than Ohio State took against Tennessee and Oregon. Instead of big-hitting plays to Jeremiah Smith, the Buckeyes utilized 10 plays to cover 64 yards while controlling the ball for just over 4 minutes.
Ohio State faced a pair of 3rd downs on the opening drive but converted both of them with connections from Will Howard to Emeka Egbuka. And while Smith did not record a catch on the opening drive, Judkins came up big on the ground.
He carried the ball 4 times, including the capper from 9 yards out on 2nd-and-goal. Not only did Judkins open the scoring but the touchdown softens the blow of an earlier drop by Carnell Tate that would have scored a touchdown.

Outside of Judkins, Egbuka did the rest of the heavy lifting with 3 catches for 30 yards. With Jeremiah Smith always lurking, it’s good to see the Buckeyes cashing in a drive with the ground game early on against a stout Texas defense.
