Reggie Bush played on some of the best college football teams in the modern era. The teams at USC under Pete Carroll are often considered to be some of the most talented we’ve seen.
So when Bush says he believes this year’s Ohio State team could hang with those squads from the mid 2000s, that’s really saying something.
Tuesday, Bush joined Colin Cowherd’s radio show to talk about college football, in particular Saturday’s matchup between Michigan and Ohio State. The former USC and NFL running back raved about the talent on the Buckeyes’ roster this season, saying it’s easily a national title contender.
“I believe that this Ohio State team could’ve played with our national championship team,” Bush said. “I believe they’re very talented all across the board. Obviously Justin Fields is a problem. …They’ve got a great defense. Chase Young who’s arguably the best player at his position, the most dominant player at his position.
“I see a great football team and I even said on the show, I think this could be the best Ohio State team ever assembled.”
Ohio State enters the matchup 11-0 coming off a huge win over Penn State. The Buckeyes have already locked up a berth in the B1G Championship Game, but are hoping to make it eight straight victories over Michigan this weekend.
As much as Bush likes Ohio State, he also said that Michigan has an excellent shot at getting an upset.
“I do believe Michigan can beat them,” Bush said. “If we see a similar repeat performance from their offense, not protecting the football, turning the ball over in their own territory. Michigan can definitely score some points and their defense is playing well right now.”
Michigan has won four straight games and is 9-2 on the season.
