Former Ohio State wide receiver Corey Smith Jr. was arrested on Saturday for alleged aggravated robbery and several other warrants, according to a report from Eleven Warriors.

Columbus Police were reportedly conducting a ShotSpotter follow-up, a system that alerts police of gunfire. Smith claimed to know nothing about the incident, but officers found shell casings in an area where officers learned there was a party the previous night.

Smith was arrested after police discovered that he had several warrants, which included aggravated robbery which occurred in Akron in July 2018. Authorities arrived as Smith was leaving the area and a short chase followed before the arrest.

Smith played at Ohio State from 2014 through 2016 and played in 20 career games with the Buckeyes. He had 31 receptions for 351 yards in his career.
