Report: Former Buckeye pass-catcher likely to have limited role to start rookie season in NFL
Ohio State had a plethora of impressive pass-catchers a season ago.
That’s only part of the reason why QB Dwayne Haskins had such an outstanding season. Many of those pass-catchers (including Haskins) moved on to the NFL after last year.

One of those wide receivers was Parris Campbell. Campbell got drafted by the Indianapolis Colts, which seems like a very ideal landing spot for a play-maker on the outside. After all, when healthy, Andrew Luck is one of the best QB’s in the world.

Speaking of health, though, Campbell hasn’t stayed particularly healthy himself so far. According to Kevin Hickey at USA Today, Campbell suffered a hamstring injury that has kept him off the field. It seems likely that the injury will keep Campbell to a limited role to start the 2019 season.
“Though he was close to making a return, Campbell suffered a setback when testing the hamstring,” Hickey wrote. “It isn’t clear when the rookie will be making his return, and head coach Frank Reich noted there’s a high chance it limits the second-round pick early on.”
Hickey quoted Colts head coach Frank Reich in his article:
“Yeah, it will definitely limit. I mean, we can still, when he’s full speed, he’s full speed. So, rather than having eight plays designed for him, it might be three plays designed for him,” Reich told reporters Wednesday. “And trying to pick, hey, what are the best three or four or five ways to try to use Parris in this game? Rather than play him 40 plays a game, maybe he gets 10 or 15 plays a game and then he gradually builds up from there.”
