Ohio State’s basketball team will be taking the floor without head coach Chris Holtmann on Sunday. The athletic department released a statement on the situation.

Holtmann, as well as assistant coach Ryan Pedon, will be unavailable for the game against Northwestern. Both are in health and safety protocols, per the release.

Jake Diebler will serve as the acting head coach for the showdown between the Buckeyes and Wildcats. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET with the game airing on Big Ten Network.

Ohio State is 9-3 on the season but lost its last game to Indiana in Bloomington. Northwestern is 8-4 and is on a 2-game skid, falling to Michigan State and Penn State in consecutive games.

Sunday’s game between the Buckeyes and Wildcats will be the only matchup between the two teams in the regular season.
