Monday night, news broke that Georgia backup quarterback and former 5-star prospect Justin Fields would be leaving the program.

However, later in the evening, there was a follow-up report stating the Fields was “exploring” his transfer options, and his departure was not yet definite. But if the Bulldogs gunslinger does decide to pack up and leave Athens, he could be eyeing a landing spot in the B1G.

According to ESPN, Fields “might consider” Ohio State to continue his academic and athletic career if he departs from SEC country. Also mentioned in ESPN’s report as potential destinations were Florida State and Oklahoma.

Fields, at one time, was committed to Penn State and was heavily recruited by Joe Moorhead. That relationship has many speculating that Mississippi State could also be in the mix, where Moorhead is now the head coach.

ESPN is reporting that Fields intends to suit up and play for the Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl against Texas.

Right now, there’s a lot of speculation about Fields and his future, and there will likely be plenty more. If he does leave Georgia, he’ll quickly become the hottest free agent on the market.
