Former Ohio State quarterback Matthew Baldwin is trading the B1G for the Big 12.

On Tuesday, 247Sports reported that Baldwin is headed to TCU to complete his academic and athletic career. The former Buckeye told 247Sports that he had an “awesome time” on his visit over the weekend and committed a few days later.

Baldwin entered the transfer portal last month, following the conclusion of Ohio State’s spring season. He would’ve likely been No. 2 on the depth chart in 2019, behind Georgia transfer Justin Fields.

A native of Austin, Texas, Baldwin was a member of Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class and spent one season with program. He will head to TCU with three years of eligibility remaining. Per 247Sports, Baldwin plans to submit a waiver to the NCAA for immediate eligibility in the 2019 season.

Baldwin was a four-star prospect out of high school and has an opportunity to have a major impact with one of the top programs in the Big 12.
