After 4 seasons at Ohio State, Justin Ahrens will reportedly play elsewhere next season.

College basketball insider Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports shared that Ahrens plans to transfer.

The first step will be entering the transfer portal. Entering the portal does not bind a player to leave the program, but it appears Ahrens is set on leaving OSU, based on Rothstein’s tweet.

Ahrens has played in 114 games, starting 41, over 4 seasons at Ohio State. The NCAA’s waiver to not count 2020-21 against players’ eligibility allows Ahrens to return as a fifth-year super senior. He will be immediately eligible at his next school.

This past season, Ahrens played in 32 games, with 19 starts, logging 646 minutes, all career-highs. Ahrens averaged 4.8 points per game for the Buckeyes this season, a slight dip in production from his 2020-21 mark of 5.7 points per game.
