Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is expected to join Ryan Day’s staff at Ohio State for the 2019 season, according to a report.

Prior to Rose Bowl kickoff on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported that Yurcich will become an assistant coach with the Buckeyes, though his status is still to be determined. According to the report, Yurcich will likely coach the quarterbacks at Ohio State, which was the previous duty of Day.

Yurcich was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Oklahoma State from 2013-2018.

Yurcich is a native of Euclid, Ohio.

Day is in the process of assembling his first staff as head coach at Ohio State. He’s delayed some of the process as the Buckeyes prepare for the Rose Bowl.

Urban Meyer is coaching in his final game at the helm of Ohio State. Day will assume all head coaching duties following the Jan. 1 game.
