Report: Ohio State's Demetrius Knox likely out for season
The Ohio State Buckeyes were on a bye a weekend ago, but came out of it with some sour news when linebacker Justin Hilliard was lost for the season with a torn biceps.
Hilliard, unfortunately for the Buckeyes, isn’t the only player the team probably lost for the season since the No. 3-ranked squad has hit the field. According to a report via landof10.com, redshirt guard Demetrius Knox had surgery earlier today for a broken foot.
Sources, according to the report, informed the site that Knox will miss 7-8 weeks, but that it could be more. If it does stay within that 7-8 week timetable, he could potentially be back for Ohio State’s postseason bowl game or College Football Playoff run.
He has broken the same foot just over a year ago, in the spring of 2015.
Knox has played in each of the Buckeyes’ first three games as a backup lineman while appearing on special teams occasionally.
