Report: Ohio State's Zach Smith interviewed for multiple jobs 'at Urban Meyer's request'
Little by little, more information surrounding Ohio State receivers coach Zach Smith is surfacing.
Earlier Monday, Brett McMurphy reported that Smith was allegedly arrested for a domestic violence issue that occurred in June 2009 when the coach was on Urban Meyer’s staff at the University of Florida. Last week, Smith was reportedly arrested for criminal trespassing.
Now, Jordan Strack, a sports anchor and reporter at WTOL-11 in Toledo, is reporting that Smith interviewed for “multiple jobs this season” at Meyer’s request.

To follow up on Brett McMurphy’s reporting…
I have a source that tells me Zach Smith interviewed for multiple jobs this offseason at Urban’s request.
It would seem that Urban has been trying to get Smith off the staff without firing him. https://t.co/Vb4XYqxbSK

Smith has been a member of Meyer’s staff for 11 seasons, dating back to the days at Florida. Whether or not Meyer knew about the legal issues with his assistant coach are unknown.
Regardless of the situation, this will likely shift the focus from football to other questions for Meyer at B1G Media Days this week.
The Ohio State head coach is scheduled to speak on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
