Urban Meyer has stepped away from coaching, but the former Ohio State leader may not be quite done with college football just yet.

According to Michael McCarthy of Sporting News, Meyer is close to finalizing a deal with FOX Sports to become a lead college football analyst for the 2019 season. He’s been given the option to work as a color commentator in the broadcast booth at games or as a studio analyst.

The three-time national championship coach retired following the Buckeyes’ Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day due to health concerns.

Per the report from Sporting News, FOX Sports just enjoyed its most-watched college football regular season ever. The expectation is that the addition of Meyer to the network’s pregame show could rival ESPN’s College GameDay.

Meyer does bring some experience as a college football analyst to FOX Sports. After leaving Florida following the 2010 season, the head coach had a one-year stint at ESPN as an analyst.

Meyer returned to the coaching ranks in 2012, taking over at Ohio State.
