Urban Meyer will meet with the Jacksonville Jaguars about its head coaching job on Friday, according to a report.

That’s per Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Rapoport first reported Meyer’s interest in the Jaguars last week, going as far as to say he was “lining up a staff” of assistant coaches.

According to NFL.com, the Jaguars have already interviewed Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy and Falcons interim head coach Raheem Morris.

Pelissero reports that no deal is imminent with Meyer or any other candidate.

The Jags have the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, making it a very attractive opening for prospective coaches. Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is widely expected to be the pick at No. 1 overall, although there’s several top QB prospects in this class.

Meyer has already turned down a chance to return to coaching this offseason. He reportedly turned away Texas officials for “health issues” back in December.

Meyer, 56, has never coached in the NFL at any level. However, he has won National Championships at his last two stops, Ohio State (2012-18) and Florida (2005-10).
