Not many voices in the media have campaigned on behalf of Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. Most have looked at the reporting and evidence presented by college football insider Brett McMurphy and have assumed Meyer had prior knowledge of the history of domestic ciolence involving former assistant coach Zach Smith.

Reporter Jeff Snook has been arguing against McMurphy through most of the Ohio State saga, presenting the other side of the story through his reporting.

In the process, he blasted Ohio State and Michael Drake, the school’s president. Below is just a snippet of Snook’s post, which can be viewed on Facebook.

Only an institution like Ohio State can screw up something so serious so badly.

The university has had a football program that wins plenty of games and championships for decades and yet has a solid, consistent history of losing the public relations game.

And here, they committed PR suicide by throwing its athletic director and head football coach under the proverbial bus in a superficial, white-washed report to appease its national critics. There is no other way to dissect this mess.

The public deserves to see every email, text, transcript of every interview of all 40 witnesses, every nook, cranny, and dirty detail of this “investigation.”

While most of the media continues to shame Ohio State for only suspending Meyer for three games, Snook is hammering the school for suspending the head coach for that long.

Snook’s opinion, presented with analysis and his own reporting, certainly adds a different element to the story and presents a different perspective for people to consider.
