Out with the old and in with the new.

Ohio State is the time between spring football and the start of fall camp to bring new turf inside the walls of The Horseshoe. It’s a plan that was approved earlier this year and now the construction crew is hard at work.

Friday, Ohio State shared photos of the work in progress inside The Shoe. The old turf has been removed, clearing the path for that fresh look for the upcoming season.

With the end zones and midfield logo fading in color, Ohio State decided to make a change this offseason. The new turf will receive quite the reception when the Buckeyes take the field for the first time in 2022.

On Saturday, Sept. 3, Ohio State will host Notre Dame in a battle between two power programs. College Football Playoff implications will undoubtedly be at stake on that Saturday night in Columbus.
