Rose Bowl records to be aware of for 2nd half of Ohio State-Oregon
Rose Bowl records are meant to be broken, and is it possible we’ll see one — or multiple — fall this year?
The 2025 Rose Bowl through 1 half has been extremely 1-sided, as the Ohio State Buckeyes are all over the Oregon Ducks, 34-8, at the half. This is a revenge game for the Buckeyes, as the Ducks won a thrilling 32-31 victory in their matchup earlier in the regular season.
The passing game of the Buckeyes has been terrific in the first half, as Will Howard has thrown for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns. His favorite receiver has been Jeremiah Smith, who has 5 catches for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns entering the half. Overall, the Buckeyes have 390 total yards of offense, while the Ducks have only 139.
With this type of performance, there are a few records that could be on the line in the 2nd half of this game. Take a look at some to be aware of ahead of the 2nd half:
- Most points in a Rose Bowl: 59 (Oregon, 2015)
- Largest margin of victory: 49 points (Michigan vs. Stanford – 1902, UM vs. USC – 1948)
- Total yards: 683 (Ohio State vs. Utah, 2022)
- TDs: 6 (CJ Stroud, Ohio State vs. Utah)
- Receiving TDs: 3 (4 players, most recently Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Utah)
The Ducks were able to drive down the field late in the first half, and got on the board as time expired on a Dillon Gabriel pass to Traeshon Holden. Oregon does get the ball to start the 2nd half, but changes are going to need to happen if the Ducks can get back in this game.
