Ross Bjork got off to a good start at his introductory press conference on Wednesday, when he said, “O-H!”

The new athletics director at Ohio State, from Texas A&M, said he was excited to join the Buckeyes, and offered his early commitment.

“You have my pledge that I will work hard every single day for the Buckeyes, especially our student-athletes, to make sure that we provide the best athletic and academic experience possible,” he said.

Bjork also commented on Ryan Day, who attended the event, and said, “He’s gonna get it done and it’s gonna be a lot of fun when we win those championships.”

Bjork added that Day is a “brilliant mind in the game of football.”

Bjork and Ohio State President Ted Carter each commented on, and advocated for, the new NCAA model, and Carter added that he believes revenue sharing with athletes is the future in college sports.

Both Carter and Bjork also noted that Ohio State should continue to have 36 varsity sports, but Bjork added that “football is king” and everyone at Ohio State is aligned on that.
