Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes won a fairly convincing game over Wisconsin at Camp Randall last week, 24-10.

The Buckeyes offense struggled mightily, however. Wisconsin had every opportunity to make it a close game in the first half, but its inept offense against Ohio State’s stout defense kept the Badgers out of the end zone.

Kyle McCord threw for 226 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. No receiver outside of Marvin Harrison Jr., the best WR in college football, was able to do any damage for OSU.

Some fans were quick to wonder why Cade Stover did not get any target in such a game. He’s one of the better tight ends in the country and a noticeable influence on Ohio State’s offense.

Day was asked on Tuesday about Stover’s lack of targets. Here’s what he had to say:

Stover was also doing some work in blocking assignments on Saturday, perhaps another reason he wasn’t more of a factor in the passing attack. Against a team like Wisconsin, you need that physicality to clear a path.
