C.J. Stroud did not play for Ohio State in Week 4, and it looks like that rest provided a nice breather for the quarterback.

On Monday, head coach Ryan Day said Stroud is “feeling much better” going into the week of practice, according to Dan Hope with Eleven Warriors. It is still in question if Stroud will be healthy enough to play on Saturday when Ohio State travels to face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Stroud will be tested in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s practice according to coach Day:

“He’s feeling much better and much more rested, so we’ll kind of see how it goes Tuesday and Wednesday and go from there,” Day explained.

Stroud did not play in the 59-7 win at home vs. Akron. Kyle McCord started the game for Ohio State as he threw for 319 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and a QBR of 70.8 on 13 completions (out of 18 passing attempts).

Ohio State will need to be at full strength as the Buckeyes start B1G play this Saturday vs. Rutgers. They have already lost one game this season against Oregon. One more loss could be a fatal blow to Ohio State’s Playoff chances.
