Ohio State rolled to its first B1G win of the season, but it wasn’t enough for head coach Ryan Day.

The Buckeyes left no time fooling around with Indiana, jumping all over the Hoosiers early and often. In the end, Justin Fields, J.K. Dobbins, and company were the driving force behind a 51-10 win over Indiana in Bloomington.

While the score may have been eye-popping, Day knows his squad was less than perfect in the win. And while Ohio State cruised against Indiana, he knows the team may not always survive such mistakes against the rest of the B1G.

According to Day, the Buckeyes missed some deep balls in the passing game, but it’s up to the coaching staff and team to highlight the issues and get them fixed moving forward. Nathan Baird with Cleveland.com shared Day’s post-game comments:

“I thought we missed some deep balls,” explained Day. “We had some guys open, Justin (Fields) knows it. We left some yards on the field. But again, I think the maturity of the coaching staff, of the team, is to go find issues on film and get them fixed. As time goes on, we start to play other teams and get into the thick of the B1G, those issues are going to come up. So it’s our job to find them and get them fixed.”

After improving to 1-0 in B1G play, the Buckeyes will take on Miami (OH) next weekend before resuming conference play.
