Ryan Day has not gotten to see Jaxon Smith-Njigba play as much this season. With his star receiver being out, there has been a “silver lining” per Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors.
Smith-Njigba has been out due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the season opener against Notre Dame. Day admitted that it hasn’t been the worst thing for the team, and has allowed other receivers to shine and get into rhythm with C.J. Stroud.
Ryan Day said the “silver lining” of Jaxon Smith-Njigba being sidelined is that it’s allowed the other receivers to establish themselves and for C.J. Stroud to get into a rhythm with them.

Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. have been able to carry the load so far. Egbuka (442) and Harrison (387) are the team’s top receivers in terms of yardage so far. It hasn’t effected Stroud’s game that much either as he has 1,222 yards passing with 16 touchdowns through four games.
Ohio State’s offense is excelling even without Smith-Njigba in the lineup, which is a good sign for the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes’ next test with be against Rutgers on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
