Ryan Day and Ohio State made the trek south on Friday to settle in and prepare for the national championship game. On Monday, the Buckeyes will face Notre Dame for all the marbles, and the head coach of Ohio State wanted to make sure his fans know of the program’s appreciation.

Upon landing in Atlanta, Day highlighted what he described as a great sendoff and made sure to thank the fans for what he described as a jolt of energy for the players:

“We had a great sendoff party there in Columbus on the way out. Gave us a lot of energy. It was great to see the fans send us off like that, gave us a bunch of energy on the bus which was great,” explained Ryan Day. “We talk a lot about how we’re going to need everybody and to see the fans send us off like that was great. We’ve had a good week of prep, we’re looking forward to a great weekend of practice, and our guys are energized.”

Buckeye Nation has been rallying all postseason, and we’ll see how Ohio State fans show up again with the national title finally on the line. For anyone looking to get in on the action, be sure to use Tradition’s Ohio sports betting promos for the best offers.

Day was quickly asked a follow-up about the importance of the fans and his message to them. He was quick to rally Buckeye Nation, regardless of their location, for Monday’s title game.

“We need everybody. It doesn’t matter if it’s a 4 or 5-year-old who was at the buses today or an 80-year-old woman there who had a sign with a message for someone on the team. If it’s somebody who is going to be at the stadium, be loud. We need a great crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Monday night,” rallied Day. “Or maybe it’s somebody back home in Columbus or a Buckeye who is in another country. Everybody matters right now. We feel that, the players feel that. We need Buckeye Nation to come together with great vibes and great energy coming into Monday night.”
