Ryan Day has shared some of Ohio State’s plans to honor Dwayne Haskins during Saturday’s Buckeyes spring football game.

“We’re going to do a couple things to tribute for Dwayne,” Day told reporters in his Thursday press conference. “At the end of the first half, we’ll do a video for him and a moment of silence before. We’ll still have a few other things we’ll do to recognize him symbolically.

“It will be nice to have Buckeye nation together for this event on Saturday, to celebrate our team and the hard work we put in the spring but also to get everybody together to honor Dwayne, and I think that’s appropriate. It’s gonna be a lot of excitement, but also some moments in the day that’ll be deep thoughts based on our memories with Dwayne playing in that stadium.”

The Ohio State family has been mourning the tragic passing of Haskins last week. Early Saturday morning Haskins was struck by a truck on a South Florida highway. There have been tributes around OSU campus, including a recent candlelight vigil.

Day was Haskins’ position coach for the 2017 and ’18 seasons when he also held offensive coordinator responsibilities under former head coach Urban Meyer.
