Ryan Day couldn’t stop talking about what stood out from the 38-3 win over Michigan State.

Day was impressed with how efficient Ohio State was during the 1st half at Tuesday’s presser. Finishing drives, moving the chains, and succeeding in the red zone were all things the team did well.

He credited Kyle McCord for the timing of some of his throws.

“The first half you saw some efficient play. Finished drives, first downs, red zone. I thought were some very well-executed plays,” said Day. “I thought the protection gave Kyle some time. The timing of throws were pretty high level. The second touchdown to Marvin, the throw and catch was excellent.”

One thing that the win showed Day was what Ohio State is capable of when all goes according to plan. He said it was good to see the team play a full half. Everything he mentioned from the win was encouraging.

“I think you see what we’re capable of. It was good to see us play a full half right there and play and execute,” said Day. “We finished with a two-minute drive right there, so all of those things are encouraging at this point.”

Ohio State takes on Minnesota next before The Game on Nov. 25.
