Ryan Day explains why TreVeyon Henderson didn't play in 2nd half vs. Rutgers
During Ohio State’s dominating 52-13 victory over Rutgers on Saturday night, Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson left the game with an apparent injury in the first half, and entered the medical tent for evaluation. However, late into the second quarter he was seen sitting on the bench with the rest of the OSU running backs joking with teammates and looking relaxed.
While Henderson never re-entered the game, his condition did not appear to be serious and Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day is taking extra caution with his potential Heisman Trophy candidate.

TreVeyon Henderson got "banged up" at Rutgers and did not return, but Ohio State coach Ryan Day said the freshman RB was held out in a precautionary move:

“It was my decision to hold him out in the second half,” Day told reporters when asked about Henderson after the game. “He was ready to go. I just felt like I didn’t want to take a chance going into the second half.”
The Buckeyes held a comfortable 38-6 lead with about five minutes remaining in the first half, and Henderson had already rushed 8 times for 71 yards and one touchdown, but better safe than sorry in a game that was well in hand.
During his first four collegiate games, Henderson has 439 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. He is averaging over 100 yards per game and 9.5 yards per carry.
