Ryan Day has update on injured Ohio State OT Thayer Munford

One of Ohio State’s captains went down with an injury against Tulsa last week, but it doesn’t sound like it’s a worst-case scenario.
Offensive tackle Thayer Munford suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of the Buckeyes’ 41-20 win and later came out in a walking boot. Ohio State coach Ryan Day provided a vague but somewhat promising update on Munford in his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Day on LG Thayer Munford's injury: "It's not long-term. That's the best I can give you."

It could be much worse, that’s for sure.
Munford, a fifth-year senior, was named First Team All-B1G last season, so his absence isn’t ideal for an Ohio State team that’s dealing with an injured QB, too. Protecting CJ Stroud — and his shoulder — is imperative if the Buckeyes want to stay in the top 10 of the AP poll.
Ohio State is getting set for one last non-conference game this week as it welcomes Akron to Columbus. Kickoff is set for Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. ET on the B1G Network.
