Ryan Day is having injuries on defense. Denzel Burke, Cam Brown, and Lathan Ransom were just some of the Ohio State DBs who missed time against Wisconsin.

With the injuries happening in the secondary, some players got to see the field who don’t usually get the chance. J.K. Johnson and Jyaire Brown filled in for the injured Buckeyes. Johnson even made his first start at CB for Ohio State since joining the program from the 2021 recruiting class.

Day was quick to praise how talented the two DBs are. Day even stated that they will continue to see significant playing time regardless per Griffin Strom of Eleven Warriors.

“Both of them are very talented,” said Day. “And so hopefully we’ll have a little bit more depth again this week, but either way, those two are ready to go and they’re gonna see significant time”

Johnson had 4 total tackles, while Brown had 1 total tackle in the 52-21 victory over the Badgers.

Something to watch will be how much Brown and Johnson see the field in the next few games.
