Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson is pretty confident his teammate Chris Olave will be back on the field for the Buckeyes for Saturday’s showdown against Penn State in Happy Valley. Head coach Ryan Day isn’t quite ready to say one way or the other.
Both Wilson and Day spoke with the media on Tuesday as the Buckeyes prepare for their first road trip of the season. One of the burning questions was the status of Olave, who left Saturday’s season opener against Nebraska after taking a hard hit to the head.
Day said that Olave “seemed good,” and was in “good spirits,” after leaving the contest over the weekend, according to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. However, because of the uncertainty of head injuries, there’s no confirmation as to whether the junior receiver will be back.

Wilson is taking a more optimistic approach, however. The sophomore said that he is “super confident” Olave will be back for the Buckeyes against Penn State.
Olave finished the day with 6 receptions for 104 yards in the 52-17 win. Wilson was the leading receiver of the day, totaling 129 yards and a touchdown on 7 grabs.
