Ohio State is hoping to have Chris Olave ready for Saturday’s big game vs Penn State.

During the season-opening win over Nebraska, Olave left the game with what appeared to be a head injury. He sustained a hard shot on one play and remained down for a little while before leaving the field in his own power. Olave would be evaluated and did not return to action.

Head coach Ryan Day has been mostly mum on Olave’s status this week, though he did indicate that Olave has been practicing. During a Saturday morning appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay, Day once again was a bit cryptic and brief in his comments about Olave’s status:

“He had a great week of practice and is looking forward to the game,” said Day.

It should be noted Olave was not listed as unavailable or a game-time decision on Ohio State’s status report that was released Friday, so it would assume Olave is good to go against the Nittany Lions. It looks like fans will just have to find out come kickoff on Saturday.
