This past Saturday, Ohio State suffered its first-ever defeat to Oregon, 35-28. The Buckeyes lost more than the game on Saturday, as head coach Ryan confirmed their starting safety Josh Proctor is out for the year. Day said that Proctor suffered a fracture in the game against the Ducks.

Proctor was one of the more experienced players on the Buckeyes’ defense by appearing in 29 games in his career. This season was his second season as a starter for Ohio State. In two games this season, Proctor accumulated 10 total tackles and 3 solo tackles.
Last season was his most accomplished season up until this year as he accounted for 20 total tackles, 16 solo tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception. He has been known to be a tenacious, hard-hitting safety for the Buckeyes.
Sophomore Bryson Shawn will take over as the starting safety for Proctor for the Buckeyes.
