Ryan Day responds to Charles Huff's NIL offer
Ryan Day’s No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for a home matchup against the Marshall Thundering Herd in Week 4.
Ahead of the matchup, Marshall head coach Charles Huff made a humorous attempt to convince Ohio State players to transfer to his school.
“So if they want to transfer on down, we got a Tudor’s biscuit NIL all-you-can-eat,” Huff said. “If any of those guys who can run really, really fast at Ohio State like Tudor’s biscuits, I promise you, all you can eat, all day if you transfer here.”
At Day’s Wednesday press conference, the coach was asked if he saw the video and what he thought about it.
“Again, I have a lot of respect for him (Huff). I think he’s very thorough in his approach and does a really good job of communicating,” Day said of the Marshall HC. “I thought the way he handled that was great. Sometimes us coaches, we take ourselves too seriously and I just thought he was having a great moment there.”
It’s nice to see Day take the joke in stride and not take himself too seriously, as he admitted coaches do from time to time.
Huff may be content with his current team, but they’ll need all the help they can get if they hope to upset the Buckeyes this weekend. ESPN’s FPI gives Ohio State a 96.9% chance to remain perfect in Week 4.
Although, Huff’s Marshall team did pull off a massive upset against Notre Dame in 2022, so the Buckeyes cannot overlook this game. The Buckeyes and Herd will kick off from Ohio Stadium on Saturday at Noon ET.
