Ryan Day reveals why he's shaving his beard before season opener
Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day has been sporting a beard for some time now but that’s about to come to an end.
When he was speaking to the media on Monday, Day revealed that he’s going to be shaving the beard before this Thursday due to superstitious reasons.

Even though Day has thought about it, he doesn’t want to risk a thing.
“I’d like to Tim. I thought long and hard about it. My wife and I have had a conversation about it, but I’m not taking that chance, especially starting with a conference game. Beard has to go,” Day said.
Considering the Buckeyes also went to the National Championship Game last season, there was no way Day was going to risk that potential again while having a beard.
OSU will kick off their 2021 campaign with a trip to Minnesota this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on FOX and will include a cleanly shaved Day.
