Ryan Day has his team at 10-0 coming out of a Week 11 win over Michigan State. However, the head coach is well aware of what the team still has in front of them.

Immediately following the game, Day was asked about the impressive performance for QB Kyle McCord. The head coach reiterated everyone is focused on playing their best football, and he believes McCord was close to that mark against the Spartans.

“We want to be playing our best football, I’ve been saying that, down the stretch. We’ve got a lot of football ahead, a lot of big games ahead,” said Day. “We want to be playing championship football, and I believe he showed signs of that today.”

As for the film from the 38-3 win over Michigan State, Day knows there are always issues to clean up. Even in a big win, that’s not going to change.

“Oh, there’s issues always. There’s always issues on the film, and it’s our job as coaches to identify those, and it’s the players’ job to see those and accept that coaching,” Day explained. “But we’ve got to keep building on the momentum we have and keep building confidence. We get everyone on the field together, the defense playing complimentary football with the offense, that’s what we’re looking for.”

Next up Ohio State will face Minnesota, but Day was asked about the impeding showdown vs. Michigan. He said the team knows what’s coming, but that will not change Day’s focus from one day and one week at a time.

“It’s the biggest game of the year, that’s not any different… We know what’s coming down the tubes, we’ve just got to keep grinding and get better,” said Day. “Our guys gotta continue to stay focused on one week at a time, and that’s it.”
