Ryan Day knows the weight that comes with yet another loss in The Game. He also knows Ohio State has new life in the College Football Playoff, and now is not the time to look at the past with regret.

On Sunday, Day and the rest of the country learned that the Buckeyes would be hosting a home Playoff game against Tennessee from the SEC. Add in the fact that the game is coming in less than 2 weeks and it adds a bit of urgency to Ohio State’s plans.

“Our guys for 3-4 days you sit on it, you stew on it, you try to identify what went wrong, and then you move forward,” said Day about life after losing to Michigan. “I think the thing for us is this game is going to come fast. We’re less than 2 weeks from playing the game as opposed to a bowl game where you’re sitting on it for a month.”

With the Vols coming to Ohio Stadium on Dec. 21, it’s full speed ahead for the Buckeyes. Day also says the Playoff is wide-open with every team having some form of issues.

“But that’s it. It’s all about moving forward, and no team doesn’t have their issues going into this Playoff. We know what our issues are and we’ve got to make adjustments coming off the last game,” Day explained. “What got us to this point is what it is, it’s all about moving forward… We have an experienced team, guys who have played in this environment before, and we have a home game.”
