Ryan Day shares early comments on Georgia matchup, 'unbelievable opportunity' for the Buckeyes

Ryan Day and Ohio State have their second shot at the 2022 season.

Despite losing to Michigan in The Game, the Buckeyes landed as the No. 4 seed for the College Football Playoff on Sunday. That seeding puts Ohio State in a matchup against No. 1 seed Georgia, the defending national champs.

Day was asked about that game and the challenge that awaits Ohio State. At this point, Day says the team has a new energy and is all about approaching this as an opportunity. He also says the Buckeyes are happy to have their destiny in their own hands once again:

“We saw our name go up there on the board and know we’ll have an opportunity to play. I said it before, it’s like a second lease on life. Felt like we were on life support a few days ago,” said Day.

“Life is all about opportunity and what an unbelievable opportunity this is. Going down to Atlanta, playing the national champs… This is all going to be about taking advantage of this opportunity. Who works harder over this next month? Just maximizing every day, preparing to play in this game because now we’re in control of our destiny.”
