Ryan Day shares initial comments on TTUN, carrying the weight from 2021 loss in The Game
Ryan Day is already thinking about The Game at home in Week 13. In his press conference after No. 2 Ohio State defeated Maryland 43-30 on the road in Week 12, Day talked about the team up north as he looks to get revenge from last season’s loss.
Ryan Day says the first words he said to his team after the game were about the “team up north.”
"You know our number one goal is to beat the team up north."

Last year, No. 2 Ohio State lost to No. 5 Michigan on the road 42-27 as Wolverines running back Hassan Haskins rushed for 169 yards and 5 touchdowns on 28 carries. Wolverines defensive Aidan Hutchinson accounted for 7 total tackles, 5 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and a quarterback hurry.
Michigan defeated Ohio State for the first time since 2011 as it was the first loss for Day against Michigan. It was also the first win over Ohio State for Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Ohio State has won 17 of the last 19 matchups versus its rival, but last year’s loss really made the Buckeyes program upset and has been looking forward to getting revenge for an entire year.
Both Ohio State and Michigan will enter into Week 13 undefeated with an 11-0 record.
Ryan Day says it “has not been easy” living with a loss to Michigan for the past year.
