Ryan Day speaks to TreVeyon Henderson's return, update on Emeka Egbuka
Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes got another win on Saturday, beating the Wisconsin Badgers 24-10. The Buckeyes improved to 5-0 in B1G play and 8-0 overall.
This game was the first game back for TreVeyon Henderson since suffering an injury over a month ago. Henderson made his presence known immediately, carrying 24 times for 162 yards and 1 TD.
After the game, Day spoke to NBC on the impact of his running back.
“So much, so much explosiveness that he brings to the table. When he’s out there and at full-go, he’s a difference-maker,” explained Day. The Buckeye rushing attack struggled to get going without Henderson over the last month.
Day also provided an update on star receiver Emeka Egbuka.
“We decided to hold Emeka (Egbuka). He was really close, but we’re looking forward to getting him back… Hopefully we can take the next step as an offense next week,” the coach explained.
Egbuka has not played since the beginning of October. The receiver has 22 catches for 303 yards and 3 TDs this season. Getting Egbuka back alongside Henderson and Marvin Harrison Jr. could be exactly what the Buckeyes need to fully mesh.
The next test for the Buckeyes will be at Rutgers next Saturday.
