Ryan Day met with the media as Ohio State opened fall camp Thursday. In the process, he tabbed a former 5-star prospect as the most improved of the offseason.

The 2020 recruiting class for Ohio State had great prospects and future stars. Ohio State finished with the 5th-best national signing class behind Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and LSU.

While prospects like 5-star wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba and 4-star quarterback C.J. Stroud have become key players for Ohio State, 5-star wide receiver Julian Fleming has yet to catch on. According to 247Sports Composite, Fleming was the highest-rated prospect for Ohio State as he was the 3rd-rated overall prospect in the nation.

This year, Day said Fleming “had the best off-season he’s had to this point. He was an iron Buckeye, he was most improved” to reporters in Fall Camp on Thursday.

Fleming has 19 receptions for 160 yards and 1 touchdown in his 2 seasons at Ohio State. He has a chance to step up this 2022 season as he looks to be a full-time starter, especially with Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson gone.
