Head coach Ryan Day talked about how challenging it is to keep yourself in it every week as a player and how important it is to bring it because anyone can beat anyone on any given Saturday in the B1G.

“Week after week you’ve gotta bring it,” said Day. “Nothing matters other than winning and keeping guys really locked in. It’s a battle of the mind, body and soul to bring it every single week because the conference is so strong this year. That’s been a challenge, especially with some of the younger guys. But I think we’ve had a really good week of practice and the focus has been really good.”

Day also talked about how much his team has matured since the beginning of the season.

“I think we’re a much different team,” said Day. “We were so inexperienced coming into the season, we’ve been through a lot this year. I think about the seniors who are playing their last game (in the Shoe), they’ve been through a lot the last 4 years. I think a combination of the experience and the youth has come together. It’s not about being the best team, it’s about playing the best today. And that’s what the focus has gotta be.”

Senior Day in the Shoe against No. 7 Michigan State kicks off at noon ET on ABC.
