On Saturday night, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow won the 2019 Heisman Trophy. Burrow, of course, started his collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring.
Current Ohio State coach Ryan Day knows all about Burrow.

After the ceremony concluded, and two Buckeyes finish in the top four of voting (and three in the top six thanks to running back J.K. Dobbins), Day had some words to say about what took place:
Caught up briefly with Ryan Day outside of the ceremony, he was thrilled to see three Buckeyes in the top six — and again offered a reminder of how little those guys really played. Gave huge credit and called it really cool to see Joe Burrow win.

Day was “thrilled” to see three of his players make the top six. And, he’s a fan of Burrow. So, is he upset that one of his former players won the award?
Nope, not at all.
Even Burrow, during his speech, thanked Day:
Joe Burrow took a moment to thank Ohio State coaches Ryan Day and Mickey Marotti after winning the Heisman Trophy tonight. He said he is "forever grateful" for them, and he wanted to make sure they knew that, because he wouldn't be sure where he is now without them.
