Ryan Day has had a limited group available for Ohio State’s secondary to begin the 2022 season. After entering the year with concerns for the group, multiple pieces have missed time through Week 4.

Fortunately, Day is expecting at least a couple of pieces back for Saturday’s game against Rutgers. During his weekly press conference, Day said that the Buckeyes are hoping to have Cam Brown and Denzel Burke available for the week ahead. However, Jordan Hancock’s return is still likely to be further out.

Day also said the team expects safety Lathan Ransom to be back for Week 5 after he was absent against Wisconsin despite not landing on the status report for the matchup. Ransom’s issue cropped up late in the week, but Day said the team will try to adjust when the status report is compiled to ensure accuracy.
