Ryan Day and Ohio State rolled in a big way during Week 3, piling up the yardage and the points with a 77-21 win over Toledo. CJ Stroud and the starting offense were electric before finally giving way to the reserves with the game well in hand.

Unfortunately, Ohio State’s defense was missing a trio of key producers in the game. That included a pair of safeties in Tanner McCalister and Josh Proctor and a key defensive lineman in Mike Hall.

After the game, Day addressed the status of each player. He admitted all 3 Buckeyes likely could have suited up and gone against Toledo, but the coaching staff felt it was important to give that group the week off.

Barring a setback, Day expects each player from that group to be ready for Week 4.

It goes without saying that each player will be more important next week. Wisconsin comes to town with the start of B1G play, so Ohio State will hope to have its full defense and playmakers for that game.
