Ryan Day and his wife, Nina, are giving back to Ohio State with the creation of the “Ryan and Nina Day Resilience Fund” at the Ohio State University Medical Center.
The creation of the fund was officially announced by the university Wednesday morning. To create the fund, the Day’s are donating $1 million to the school to raise mental health awareness.
The money will go to help create resources and research for college-age individuals battling mental health issues. Ryan Day said he never envisioned being able to give back in this way but has been able to with the opportunities provided by Ohio State.

Nina Day said she struggled with mental health throughout her life, specifically in college where there were no resources. She said she didn’t want her children to grow up in a world without these resources.

Day said the differentiated between the Nina and Ryan Day Resilience Fund and their On Our Sleeves Fund is the age. This is for college-age people, as opposed to children and getting out in front of mental health issues.
