Sam Hubbard has quickly become a fan favorite with the Cincinnati Bengals, and will now be an honorary captain during a special celebration with the Cincinnati Reds.

Hubbard will be a part of a celebration on Friday of the Reds’ City Connect jerseys, as Reds legend George Foster will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

A Cincinnati native (Archbishop Moeller High School) and 2018 Bengals third-round draft pick has developed into a full-time starter and key player on the Bengals’ defense. Hubbard has led the Bengals in tackles for a loss in each of the past 2 seasons, with 12 in 2021 and 11 in 2022.

Hubbard was part of one of the most iconic plays in team history, a 98-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the 2022 Wild Card Playoff game against Baltimore.

At Ohio State, Hubbard appeared in 40 career games (22 starts), and made 116 tackles, including 29.5 tackles for losses and 17 sacks (15th in school history).
